Heart Beat Hits
Story Behind The Song by Andy Cairns (Mar 29th, 2006)
It was a toss up between this track, ‘Play On’ or ‘Crazy Cocaine Eyes’ as to which one made it on the album. This has lots of different bits and is quite an unusual song. The guitar solo in the middle was inspired by John Coltraine and the main riff is a bastardised take on hard rock. The lyrics were written on new years eve after watching David Lynch’s ‘Mullholland Drive.’

Lyrics
Night time
Perspective
Little lights glisten
The city below
Two blunt
Smudges
Tail lights
Blind corner
It’s all made special for you
It’s all made special for you
It’s all made special for you
It’s all made special for you
You see the city below
You see the city below
You see the city below
You see the city below
And then your heart beat hits
Heart beat hits
Your heart beat hits
Heart beat hits
Your heart beat hits
Heart beat hits
Your heart beat hits
Heart beat hits
How ya
Doing?
You look
Good in that
Two blunt smudges
Tail lights
Blind corner
It’s all made special for you
It’s all made special for you
It’s all made special for you
It’s all made special for you
You see the city below
You see the city below
You see the city below
You see the city below
And then your heart beat hits
You see the city below
You see the city below
You see the city below
You see the city below
You see the city below
You see the city below
You see the city below
You see the city below
And then your heart beat hits
Heart beat hits
Your heart beat hits
Heart beat hits
Your heart beat hits
Heart beat hits
Your heart beat hits
Heart beat hits
Your heart beat hits
